Girl-Child Education: Key to Reducing VVF & Maternal Mortality in Nigeria – UNFPA

The United Nations Fund For Population Activities (UNFPA) has said that girl-child education is key to reducing the rising cases of Vesico Vaginal Fistula (VVF) in Nigeria. Speaking at a news briefing in Sokoto, UNFPA Country Representative in Nigeria, Ms. Ratidzai Ndhlovu, highlighted the urgent need for increased investment in the education of the girl-child to combat this critical health issue.

Three More Girls Return to School

Three more out of the 45 girls identified by our partner organization, Star of Hope Transformation Centre, are returning to school. These are young primary school aged girls whose lives have been disrupted due to the Boko Haram insurgency in northern Nigeria.
